Americana Music Releases for July 4th

Here’s some the best Americana and roots-type music releases for July 4th, 2025. Click the artist or album links to find out more. The artist’s names link to their websites and the CD title links go to either Amazon, iTunes, Bandcamp or the artist’s site for ordering or downloading.  A + sign means although not a featured release, it’s a notable album that’s still worth checking out.  Also, this page will be updated as I find out about other new releases so check back again.

Paul Carrick
The Country Side of Paul Carrack, Vol. 1  (Carrack-UK)

Known for his soulful singing on hits such as “How Long” with Ace, “Tempted” by Squeeze, and “The Living Years” & “Over My Shoulder” by Mike and the Mechanics, Paul Carrick now explores his love of country music. “Growing up I was hungry for any kind of music,” says Carrack, “but I would listen to people like Chet Atkins, Hank Williams, the Everly Brothers, and I particularly loved to hear Ray Charles. Of course, he was predominantly known for his soul and jazz stuff, but he was also a great Country singer.” A paean to the greatest era of Country music, The Country Side of Paul Carrack, Vol. 1 focuses on music from the ‘50s to the ‘70s. Paul and producer Steven Wood selected eight classics from Hank Williams, Ray Charles, George Jones, Hank Snow and others, plus two of Paul’s self-penned songs.
