Americana Music Releases for June 12th

Here’s some the best Americana and roots-type music releases for June 12th, 2026. Click the artist or album links to find out more. The artist’s names link to their websites and the CD title links go to either Amazon, iTunes, Bandcamp or the artist’s site for ordering or downloading.  A + sign means although not a featured release, it’s a notable album that’s still worth checking out.  Also, this page will be updated as I find out about other new releases so check back again.

Breakfield
Breakfield
  (Rounder Records)

In the process of reviewing the self-titled album from Breakfield, I went back to listen to their last record, Dusk, released under their previous name, Boy Named Banjo. Dusk struck me as something released by a band exactly in the place Boy Named Banjo was occupying at the time; sleek, uptempo and likable, perfect for opening for bigger established acts. Along with the name change, though (and a good one), the quartet, led by songwriters and vocalists Wiliam Reames and Barton Davies, decided they wanted to get a little dirtier for their fourth record. They hit the studio with producer/guitar ace Sadler Vaden and came out with a more spontaneous sound and sharper-edged storytelling. Breakfield has the freshly-named band ready to occupy their own space on the country music spectrum. (edited from Americana Highways review)

Pharis and Jason Romero
These Are The Days That Turn In To Years  (Lula Records)

This is their seventh duo recording, and their first new music to be released in nearly four years. These two are an antidote to this sped-up life, and their new record is a songwriter’s deep exhale of two people in the thick of their lives, reveling in music, words, and community. The band’s joyful, slightly on-the-edge old-time approach often playfully stretches the melody into an energetic ride through the bouncier songs, while ambient strings, ragtime piano and subtle percussion hold some of the more introspective pieces. Pharis & Jason tour incidentally while they’re raising two kids and making banjos in their home of Horsefly, BC. They play this music because they truly love it, and his record is a shining development of stories, love, and sonic delight from this unique duo.  (from their bio)
